Join us for Sunday Worship
Prayer: 9:15am | Bible Class 9:45-10:30am | Morning Worship 11am
Early 1992 – A goal to establish a new Baptist church commenced with the first service of Northwest Community Baptist Church on September 6, 1992 as a mission outreach of Sunnyside Baptist Church. There were 13 in attendance in the Sheriff Posse Building on Yellowstone Rd.
April 1993 – Down payment was made on the current location. There were 32 members with seven waiting baptism. We believed God had a great future for His church in this community. Hearts sang with joy with Paul's words in 1 Timothy 1: 17 "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen."
June 1993 – We welcomed our first full-time pastor Ted Yarbrough and his wife Glenda from TX.
Sept. 11, 1994 – Church was constituted and became self-governing.
1995-1999 – David & Cindy Crim from Missouri served as pastor and pastor's wife.
2000 – The congregation voted to change the name to Yellowstone Baptist Church.
Dec 2000 – Aug 2001 – Pastor Robert (Bob) Weant and his wife Paulita served as interim pastor. The church called Bob as pastor August 2002 until he passed from cancer in 2016. God richly blessed our church under his leadership.
July 2017 – Jan 2020 – Pastor Ken Grant (with his wife Amber) served as our next pastor. He came with a desire to see the Lord bless and grow YBC.
Nov. 29, 2020 – With an overwhelming majority, Mark Escalera was called as our new pastor. He and his wife, Violet, were church-planters in England and Liberia, West Africa. He was also a pastor in Nevada and California before serving as a Bible teacher in a mission work in Cheyenne until joining us in early 2020. They have three grown sons (all USAF veterans), and two grown adopted daughters. We are thankful the Lord has shown His favor in seeing us grow spiritually and numerically. We look forward to seeing where the Lord will take us where our focus is on missions and Biblical discipleship.
August 31, 2025 – With just shy of 90% vote, our congregation voted to adopt a new name. Continuing in the tradition of being a congregation that seeks to see Christ glorified in all things, the name chosen reflects the amazing grace of God and our unashamedly doctrinal position based on Scripture alone. We invite you to join with us as He continues to build His work.
